Attending Social Media Training on Video Production and Marketing

I attended social media training on video production and marketing hosted by

G Social Media at the Grove Park Inn on May 27, 2010.  Highlights are below.

Filmmaker, writer, actress, activist Angela Shelton shares about using social media and video to connect with her audience. Photo by Dulcita Love.

(Presenters are noted by their Twitter handle with the @ sign.)

Highlights include:

  • When making presentations, make sure the font is large enough to read in the audience. (@PSAVAsheville)
  • Adding clips as an overlay to footage that is blurry or shaky can make your video more interesting. (@revpictures)
  • Move and zoom your video camera very slowly to create better quality video. (@ashevillevideo)
  • Create videos that follow your passion to move and inspire the viewer. (@BourneMedia)
  • Videos for social media can be more casual and in the moment with less editing. (@BourneMedia)
  • It would be nice to have one quality video you chose to represent your business, whether done by professional or yourself. (@BourneMedia)
  • Which small video camera is the favorite to use.  (Flip Video for @GSocialMedia, Kodak Zi8 for @BourneMedia, Sanyo Xacti for @angelashelton).
  • WNC Films is bringing films and film production to Asheville with a new twist: featuring Asheville as itself instead of a place that looks like some other place. (Judson Matthews)

Thank you to G Social Media and the presenters for sharing their collective experience on using video and social media.
